Welcome to Chalker Beach

Message from CBIA Chair:

Welcome to Chalker Beach!  We are a private beach association located at the west end of the Old Saybrook shoreline.  Old Saybrook is located at the mouth of the Connecticut River close to major highways and rail stations allowing access to major cities throughout Connecticut, the Northeast and just a short drive away are two of the largest casinos in the world!  Old Saybrook is known for it’s small town charm with cultural activities such as the renowned theater “The Kate”, named for actress Katherine Hepburn who resided in the Burough of Fenwick.   Chartered in 1931, Chalker Beach is a family friendly community of approximately 240 properties, many have remained in the same family for generations.  In addition to two clubhouses, a baseball diamond and basketball court, the Association offers many activities for our members such as movies on the beach, Friday night bingo, beach volleyball, adult and children’s social events, arts and crafts and so much more.  A walk or bike ride through our streets usually leads to visits with neighbors lending a family type atmosphere.  Of course, the magnet of Chalker Beach is it’s plush and sandy beach where member’s can read a good book, visit or enjoy the refreshing waters of Long Island Sound.

There is a bustle of activity from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and life slows down in the off season, but many call Chalker Beach “Home” year- round, finding the quieter pace just as enjoyable.

Registration to access this site is for current property owners only, but if you wish further information about the Chalker Beach Improvement Association, please “contact us”.
